You probably know that I am an avid tea drinker. After all, my tag line is Inspired by tea | Guided by yoga. Doesn't matter the time, day, or season. There is always time for tea. A few months ago I broke one of my favorite tea infusers, and to my disappointment, I found out they no longer make the model that I had. So I was in search for a new and improved tea infuser. I searched and searched until ZENS Teapot caught my eye. It was a bit on the pricey side (about $50), but you get what you pay for, so I figured it was worth it.
This one came with two little tea cups. There is another that comes with four tea cups, and one that is just the teapot without any cups. The teapot itself is very well made, and a good weight to it. It's porcelain with a matte finish, and the handle is made of bentwood. Inside is where you place the mesh infuser which is easy to remove and clean. It also includes rattan coasters which I absolutely love.
(this is a tea blend that I made from herbs that I have)
The It holds quite a lot of loose tea, but you don't want much unless you're me lol. I fill it half way and enjoy multiple cups of tea in one sitting. Boil water to pour over your loose tea, and let steep for 5-8 minutes. The teapot keeps the tea hot as long as you keep the cover on.
The tea cups are very small. After all, this IS a Japanese tea set. Tea is to be enjoyed slowly to appreciate the flavor combinations. So you don't need much. Although I LOVE a giant cup of tea.
(tea cups hold about a shot glass worth of tea, which is 1-1.5oz)
(me appreciating all of those good flavors)
This tea set makes a great gift for tea lovers. If you purchase this tea set, let me know how you like it. I am always available to talk about tea.
