Breastfeeding can be a lot of work. And if there is anything we can do to make it easier, we're gonna do it.
Almost 13 years ago when I breasted my first child, I had a major oversupply. I remember changing bras and shirts at least 4 times a day. Leaking through nursing pads, messing up my sheets; it was messy!
And when I had my son, I leaked until he was 8 months old. Thankfully, I found nursing pads that I didn't leak through. But I was definitely filling them up to capacity and needing to change them throughout the night and all throughout the day. In order to not waste any, I'd grab whatever was in arms reach (which was usually a cup) so that I could save some milk lol.
Baby number 3 is a month old now. And although I'm sure I'd have an oversupply again, because I'm still nursing my 1 1/2 year old, its definitely contributing to the plentiful amount of milk I have right now. But Nooni's is here to save the day, well, save the night.
The material feels good. It's soft and stretchy. Very comfortable.
Now for the real test. I nursed the babies and called it a night. They must have known I was testing out this new bra. Jaida didn't get up ever 2 hours like she normally does. So naturally, I stayed asleep longer than I wanted to. Because of that, I woke up at the crack of dawn engorged.
I did a boob check and sure enough, I was lactating. But I didn't leak through the Nooni's bra. I didn't wake up feeling like I participated in a wet t-shirt contest. In fact, I didn't even feel the wetness until I actually touched it with my hands. I left it on to see how long I could wear it before I needed to change (you never want to leave on wet nursing pads, bras, shirts, etc. to prevent things like thrush, infection, etc. you want to keep your nipples clean & dry). It dried pretty quickly.
The only suggestion I have is that it may need a flap with a hook or latch that you can pull down like a traditional nursing bra. However, the stretchy material makes it easy to pull back and nurse. And to be honest, I've actually never owned a nursing bra. So while some moms may prefer the flap, I'm just fine with the sports bra design.
Nooni's Leak-Resistant Bra...the mom in me approves!
